Organic Recipe: Kale-Berry Yogurt Smoothie
Smoothies are so easy to make on a busy morning and are great for a quick breakfast. Kale-Berry yogurt smoothie is a power packed smoothie that will keep you energized throughout the day. Kale contains nutrients that support healthy skin, hair, and bones. One cup of kale has only 36 calories, 5 grams of fiber and 0 grams of fat. The fiber content in Kale enhances digestion and contributes to cardiovascular health.
Kale is also filled with so many nutrients, vitamins, folate and magnesium. In each calorie of kale, there is more iron than beef. Iron is essential for good health, such as the formation of hemoglobin and enzymes, transporting oxygen to various parts of the body, cell growth, proper liver function and more. Kale is filled with powerful antioxidants, such as carotenoids and flavonoids that help protect against various cancers. Also per calorie, kale has more calcium than milk, which aids in preventing bone loss, preventing osteoporosis and maintaining a healthy metabolism. Kale also contains Vitamin C which is helpful to maintain cartilage and joint flexibility
Kale can be bitter in smoothies, to help with that, you can add strawberry and geek yogurt to give the smoothie a pleasant taste. If you want to add coconut oil, be sure it’s slightly melted when you add it so it emulsifies and blends well into the smoothie. Otherwise, it might be lumpy, especially if you are using frozen strawberries or if you add ice cubes.

- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup frozen plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2-6 tbsp coconut oil (optional)
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
